  “what is that?”Elmo asked。“That's a picture of a parsnip(欧洲萝卜) with butter on it,”Toni answered。“I suppose you are going to tell me that it illustrates a proverb,”Elmo said。“You are right,”Toni smiled,“and that proverb is fine words butter no parsnips。Do you know what it means?”“Certainly,”Elmo replied。“It means that flattering words and promises mean nothing unless they are accmpanied by constructive deeds,”Elmo answered。“Great!You deserve an A for that!”Toni exclaimed。
